NJ Dot Route 7 Wittpen Bridge over Hackensack River
Project Description
IN 2016 a new Wittpenn bridge rose to the north of the existing four-lane lift bridge that carries Route 7 across the Hackensack River and links Jersey City and Kearny. The Wittpenn Bridge carries Route 7 traffic over the Hackensack River and serves as a major connector between Routes 139 and 1&9 Truck (1&9T) to the east, and the New Jersey Turnpike Interchange 15W and Newark/Jersey City Turnpike to the west. Four EQS Seismic Isolation Bearings were installed in September 2016. The size of the bearings range from 1,750 kips to 2,050 kips
