Update: 18 R.J. Watson Disktron Bearings Installed on the I-10/Loyola Interchange in Louisiana
Construction moves along on the I-10/Loyola Interchange. The Louisiana DOTD, along with contractor Gilchrist and consulting engineers Stantec were awarded the $125.6 million dollar design-build project. The project is halfway complete, and will give travelers direct access to the new terminal from the Interstate 10.
R. J. Watson provided 18 Disktron bearings equipped to handle a vertical loads ranging from 570 kips to 1810 kips. The expansion bearings were designed for 5″ of longitudinal displacement, 3″ of transverse displacement and a design rotation ± 0.028 radians.
