R. J. Watson was selected by Flatiron Construction in January, 2019 to supply 684 Linear Feet of Silicoflex 400 for 6 expansion joints on the Carolina Bays Parkway (Rte. 31) Extension, for a concrete bridge deck joint opening of 3.25” wide. Phase III is a $97.8M design-bid-build for the South Carolina Department of Transportation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, requiring the Silicoflex joint system to accommodate up to 4” of total thermal movement. Transystems Corporation was the design engineer for this project.
