R. J. Watson was selected by the Truesdell Corporation in August, 2019 to supply 40 Linear Feet of Silicoflex 325 for an expansion joint on a bridge over I-95/U.S. 301 near Hope Mills, North Carolina. This was a design-bid-build project for the North Carolina Department of Transportation. The contractor removed the existing failed closed cell foam joint seal, sandblasted and primed the 2” wide concrete deck surface to prepare for a new expansion joint. The new Silicoflex preformed silicone joint system will provide a watertight seal, and accommodate 3-1/4” of total thermal movement for years to come.
